There’s one place like home, and that is Ron Brown. Currently, I serve as the lead Social Studies teacher and a restorative justice circle practitioner at the only all male public school. I am also a member of OSSE’s Teacher Advisory Council.
At Ron Brown, my focus is the whole-child and family. Rigorous coursework and community events are my priority.

At UDC, I share my love for teaching by coaching new educators. In 2016, I joined the Urban Teacher Academy, as an adjunct professor and consultant to help reshape the Master’s in Education program. I use research-based strategies and my teaching experiences every day to create relevant coursework and meaningful experiences for my graduate students.

At Trinity, I learned from some of the leading educators in Washington, D.C. about applying education philosophy and frameworks to the classroom. I completed coursework in English and Social Studies pedagogy.
My thesis was “Chucking the Deuces: Why Gifted Learners Drop Out of School.”

I started my education in the UMD Scholar’s Program with a focus in Advocacy for Children. As a government major with a concentration in African American Studies, I explored coursework about race, class, gender, and their impact on our world under scholars like Dr. Ronald Walters, Dr. Linda Williams, and Dr. Jared Ball. I also interned for Albert Wynn and Congressional Black Caucus and participated in the Ralph Bunche Summer Institute at Duke with Dr. Paula McClain.
I graduated with honors and completed a thesis, “Welfare to Work: The Impact of TANF on Urban Families.” My mentor for this thesis was Dr. Wayne McIntosh.
